We also allocate 30 minutes for setup before the show and 30 minutes for breakdown afterward. 1. Participation is Optional: No one is ever forced to touch an animal. We understand that parents might encourage hesitant children, or peer pressure can arise. Our staff will gently remind the group that observing from a distance is perfectly acceptable. Often, removing pressure allows individuals to approach animals later when they feel more comfortable, potentially helping them overcome fears.

2. Gentle Handling is Mandatory: We must remember that we pose a greater risk to these animals than they do to us. Children wishing to hold an animal must be seated and extend both hands. While touching is allowed for some species, “holding” is preferred to prevent poking. Our staff closely monitors interactions and assesses whether participants can handle the animals respectfully and safely. If our staff determines someone is too nervous or an animal appears stressed, that interaction will be skipped for the safety of all involved. This decision is at the discretion of our staff and is non-negotiable.

3. Do Not Touch Animal Heads: A common question is, “Does this animal bite?” The reality is that any animal can bite. To minimize risk, participants may hold or touch the animals’ bodies but must refrain from touching their heads. Party Safari is fully insured, but our priority is preventing any negative experiences.
4. Hand Washing is Essential: Reptiles, like raw chicken or eggs, can carry Salmonella. Therefore, food consumption is not permitted during the presentation. Crucially, all participants who touch any animal MUST WASH THEIR HANDS thoroughly after the final animal is presented. Washing hands multiple times throughout the show is also encouraged.
